About Us

Health and Wellness has always been a part of my life style.  In the early parts of 2000 when Spa Therapies began gaining in popularity it seemed like a perfectly natural way to deal with some personal and very stressful experiences I was going through.  Massage therapy gave me a time to myself for myself.  It was the best hour I spent on myself twice a month.  Taking the time away making me a priority I began to revisit dreams I had before I grew up, before all the responsibilities as a single mom.  I began saying no to anyone or anything that would conflict with my personal time to unwind, something I never did before.  It was taking time off from the rush around me, to listen to my own voice.

Taking the time to unwind although a brief one hour, it was enough cumulatively to produce in me new desires, and a different prospective.  I was intrigued that Massage Therapy had actually worked for me.  I was sold on the benefits not however on changing my life to make this a career but I did enroll in 2003 at the very prestigious Somerset School of Massage Therapy now Cortiva located in Piscataway NJ, an accredited COMTA certified program.  I went from just wanting and believing to planning and starting one of my biggest dreams.

Esthetician also called skin care professional is a complement to my massage passion and was a part of the plan.  However In 2006, I started Capri Institute in Kenilworth, NJ because of some new personal challenges.  For a long while I dealt with a health condition that suddenly developed and was adversely affecting my skin.  My Doctors were having a very difficult time diagnosing what exactly was occurring and why.  Dealing with symptoms that continued to get worse, I needed to understand the function of my skin to understand what was happening to me.  Pouring my heart and soul into learning all things SKIN, I figured out through journaling after each episode, which is what I came to call my ill moments.  It became clear that the issue was connected to something I was eating.  After several tests the Doctor’s confirmed.  I had food allergies that had progressively worsened.

Well, feeling 100% with my health under control, I must say prayer works!  I realized I was hooked, wellness through natural body therapy and skin care on a professional level, I found my calling.  I started planning during my attendance at Capri Institute to execute an exit plan from a long career in Business Management to move form employee to start my own business.

In the spa / health and wellness industry continued education is a must.  I also became an Approved Provider with the NCBTMB (National Certification Board of Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork) for the training of Massage Therapist in advance Body Spa Therapies.  I myself over the last seven years have taken countless hours of Continuing Education in the area of Massage Therapy.   In the last three years I have jumped into skin care on a mission.  Classes like hydro therapy training, advance muscle movement, warm stone therapy training, (7) courses in Spa Therapies including body wraps, mudd therapy, advanced cellulite, speed body waxing, microdermabrasion a hands on training.  Advanced learning at the International Dermal Institute in NY, PA and GA.  Class topics such as skin of color advance pigmentation; acne causes and treatments; machine in the Spa such as galvanic current, high frequency, ultrasonic, microcurrent, oxygen therapy, the different light therapy using LED,  proficient in pre and post treatments care.  I take continued education classes annually.  My personal mentors of massage therapy and skin care are amongst the best spa professionals in the area,  the learning experience working with them is invaluable.

And just think I came this far by starting with a little time to unwind and a whole lot of faith and grace.  It has been a journey that I am happy I embarked upon.
